Please take a look at our new minerals shop!
Here you will find a lot of spare minerals and minerals sets for collection and exhibition also in beautiful display cases. Some curiosities... do you know that when two or more minerals combine together they form a rock? The most common mineral found on Earth is quartz. All minerals are inorganic because they are made of nonliving particles, and all minerals are always solid and have a distinctive geometric shape called crystalline structure.
Now enjoy our collection, new minerals will be added every month!
The mineral Pyrite is also knows as "fool's gold" due to its amazing color, its crystalline structure is well visible, it is made of iron and sulphur, pyrite is the most abundant iron sulfide in the Earth. The name pyrite derives from the the Greek πυρίτης λίθος (pyritēs lithos), it could creat sparks when struck against steel.

The mineral was named Apatite by the German geologist Abraham Gottlob Werner in 1786, although the specific mineral he had described was reclassified as fluorapatite in 1860 by the german mineralogist Karl Friedrich August Rammelsberg. Apatite is often mistaken for other minerals. This tendency is reflected in the mineral's name, which is derived from the Greek word απατείν (apatein), which means to deceive or to be misleading.

Orpiment is a common orange-yellow arsenic sulfide. It is found in volcanic fumaroles. Orpiment takes its name from the Latin auripigmentum (aurum, "gold" + pigmentum, "pigment") because of its deep-yellow color. Alchemists often used orpiment to try to get gold from copper, of corse it was impossible, because orpiment doesn't not contain any gold.
This specimen must not be handled without an adult supervision, it must be handled with latex gloves. Don't scratch it. Do not pull out the specimen from the case.

Quartz is a hard, crystalline mineral composed of silica (silicon dioxide). The atoms are linked in a continuous framework of SiO4 with each oxygen being shared between 2 tetrahedra, giving an overall chemical formula of SiO2. Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth's. A lot of variety of quartz exist, and many of them are used as semiprecious minerals in jewelry like amethyst.
